Join us at Talbot island
Sat. March 28 2015
8:00am
SACC members, come take a day trip with us to Big Talbot Island. We are planning on spending the day at this wonderful park that offers beachside and woodland preserves. It's free to attend, but the park requests a $3 donation per car. Just bring your camera, tripod and lunch. SACC will provide water and sodas. This would be a good opportunity to carpool and make new club friends.

The island is less than 50 miles from St. Augustine. You can access the island via the Mayport Ferry system, which offers first departure from Mayport to Ft. George Island at 7:00 am. You can also follow 9A North to Hechsher Drive. Go east and follow the road north to the islands.
We will be meeting at “The Bluffs” park at Big Talbot Island at 8:00 am. They have several pavilions where we can eat lunch. Stay as long as you like. There are several other sites to take pictures along the way.
Located on one of Northeast Florida's unique sea islands, Big Talbot Island State Park is primarily a natural preserve providing a premier location for nature study, bird-watching and photography. Explore the diverse island habitats by hiking Blackrock Trail to the shoreline, Big Pine Trail to the marsh or Old Kings Highway and Jones Cut through the maritime forest. If you get lost, you can call Byron Capo at 904-814-6975
