VFW Post 2391, our hosts for our monthly meetings, will be conducting a unique Flag Retirement Ceremony on Sunday, June 14th at 1:00 p.m. This event is a kick-off for the city's 250th Anniversary celebrations.

Over the past six months they have collected flags from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. These 51 flags will be retired in a dignified plan retirement ceremony consistent with the United States Flag Code. Each flag will be hand delivered by an event guest to a member of the First City Honor Guard. Flag presenters will be given a certificate in honor of their participation.

It's a great opportunity close to home to help record the tradition. The VFW would appreciate any photos you take of the event.
