Of the many great events at the Jacksonville Zoo every year, the most colorful and photogenic is the Colors of the Wild Asian Lantern Festival. This year’s festival takes you from the depths of the ocean to the vast African savanna, then into the realm of mystical creatures from Asia, all illuminated in breathtaking detail. Each lantern invites you to explore stories of wildlife, myth, and the natural world while celebrating the beauty and wonder that connect us all.

Tickets to the festival include same day zoo admission starting at 3:00 pm. Ticket prices are $20 for zoo members and $25 for non-members. We will meet at the zoo entrance at 3:00 pm and photograph the zoo animals while waiting for nightfall when the lanterns are illuminated. The lanterns are spread through the entire zoo so there will be a fair amount of walking involved. For those with mobility limitations, motorized scooters are available for rent at a cost of $27.
